In the mature cerebral cortex, only histone cluster 1 H3 family member B (Hist1h3b), which was one of the major transcripts downregulated in the hippocampi of 5-month-old Adnp+/–mice compared with Adnp+/+ mice (6, 17), was found here to be downregulated in the female Adnp+/– mouse.
