we determined the role of PARP-1 in p21-mediated DNA damage by administering a selective PARP-1 inhibitor 3-AB to p21-/- and WT mice prior to CS exposure. As expected, lung PARP-1 activity, which is reflected by PAR level, was inhibited after 3-AB treatment (Figure 3).
